SJW is a super talented rock band and is made up of members Simon james White (Bass/Vocals), Mitch Gasser (Guitar/Vocals) and Jerry Sadowski (Drums).

They asked if FX Media could produce the visuals to their reworking/cover of the classic track ‘Making Plans for Nigel’ (by XTC), and so began a collaboration of ideas and storyboarding between Simon and I.

The track itself was recorded at George Shilling’s Bank Cottage studio, a place I’m now very familiar with, having witnessed many a recording and mastering session there for ‘Traffic Experiment‘.

The shoot day itself was a mad rush of band and storyboard filming, and we’re all so pleased with how the scenes pieced together in the final edit.

Cheeky facts:
1) The film took place in the same venue that I filmed my very first effects-heavy short film ‘Dreamscape
2) Did anyone guess who the mysterious father figure in the film is?  That’s right – Stuart from ‘Traffic Experiment’, a mutual friend of the band and I!
3) Simon also featured in another recent FX Media blog entry, as bass player in the photos of ‘The Fuse’ – check the photos out here

Here’s the film, we hope you enjoy it…

And here are a couple of group photos I took straight after the film, showing the band, actors and friends!
